I’ve left my own family events to go to THEIR family events. Left my OWN BIRTHDAY to go to her cookout! They just genuinely create problems for no earthly reason. I don’t understand I’ve pleaded tried to rest my case with people and tried to make it work but it’s just not. They are so delusional it’s unreal.

I don’t hate my in laws but they’re extremely overbearing, overly opinionated and each family member has an inflated ego thinking one or the other is always right. It gets overwhelming as hubs and I are still living under their roof while we look for our own place (which they’re heavily against because somehow they think they know better about the best living condition for their son).
Oooffff. I have huge feelings about cultural chauvinism and am rolling my eyes at your in-laws. It is a huge thing that your husband spoke up against his own father. Please continue to speak with your husband about this and make dua that your husband continues to do the right thing to stop this controlling cultural chauvinistic nonsense.
