5 giorni fa · Henry III (1 October 1207 – 16 November 1272), also known as Henry of Winchester, was King of England, Lord of Ireland, and Duke of Aquitaine from 1216 until his death in 1272. The son of King John and Isabella of Angoulême, Henry assumed the throne when he was only nine in the middle of the First Barons' War.

They had one surviving child, Elizabeth, who was 13 months old when her father was murdered. She married Lionel of Antwerp, third son of Edward III of England.

He died without male heirs before January 1211, at which time the earldom passed by right of his eldest daughter, Isabella, to her husband, Thomas of Galloway (d. 1231), and after his death, to their son Patrick (d. 1242).
