Henry Purcell (/ ˈ p ɜːr s əl /, rare: / p ər ˈ s ɛ l /; c. 10 September 1659 – 21 November 1695) was an English composer of Baroque music. Purcell's musical style was uniquely English, although it incorporated Italian and French elements.

21 nov 2020 · 21 Novembre 2020. Il 21 novembre 1695, a Londra, moriva Henry Purcell. Fu uno dei compositori inglesi più importanti di sempre, e tra i simboli del Barocco inglese. Suo padre fu maestro del coro dell’ Abbazia di Westminster per tre anni, e ricoprì anche vari incarichi nell’ Orchestra Reale.
