Jagged Little Pill is Alanis Morissette’s third studio album. Released on June 13, 1995 through Maverick Records, it was her first album to be released worldwide. The album was a stylistic departure from her first two albums, becoming an alternative rock album that takes influence from post-grunge and pop rock of the mid 1990s.

Alanis Nadine Morissette (born June 1, 1974) is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter, musician, and actress. Known for her emotive mezzo-soprano voice, Morissette began her career in Canada in the early 1990s with two mildly successful dance-pop albums. Afterward, as part of a recording deal, she moved to Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.

She is known for her emotive mezzo-soprano voice and confessional songwriting. Morissette began her music career in Canada in the early 1990s with two dance-pop albums.
12 apr 2022 · Not such a jagged little pill. Alanis Morissette was just 17 when she released her debut record "Alanis." But, the bouncy dance-pop of her 1991 album now seems miles away from the more pensive alternative rock of "Jagged Little Pill." Compare the groovy second track on "Alanis" with the scathing "You Oughtta Know" on her third LP.
Also worth noting that any copies of those first two albums that were used or turned up for sale during that time were incredibly expensive and hard to get. There was a bootleg called "Her First Two Albums" that was available, but that cut off the last three songs of "Now Is The Time" since CDs could only hold, at one point, 70 minutes of music.
