It was the Venn Diagram overlap of three unlikely friends and aspiring writers—Kerouac, Burroughs, and Ginsberg—and their sometimes-unwitting muses (Lucien Carr, Herbert Huncke, Neal Cassady, Joan Vollmer, and others).
