The John Herron School of Art, renamed the Herron School of Art and Design, a school of Indiana University, operates a campus at 735 W. New York Street in Eskenazi Hall and provides an intensive program training individuals for careers in fine art, commercial art, and teaching.
Indiana University's Herron School of Art and Design is a professional art school. That means when you come to Herron as an undergraduate, you will be earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (unless you are studying Art History or Art Education)—not a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree.
Admission to Herron School of Art and Design is based on the student's previous school record and a visual portfolio, with the exception of those entering the school as Art History majors. All Herron applicants must first be admitted to IUPUI.
