God chose Aaron, brother of Moses, to be his first high priest, and Aaron's sons to be priests to assist him. The high priest wore special garments, made sacrifices, and entered the Holy of Holies to represent the people of Israel. Jesus Christ is the superior high priest who mediates for humanity with God.
