16/11/2020 · According to the Highgrove House gardens website, when Prince Charles first arrived at the home, there was "a neglected kitchen garden, an overgrown copse, some pastureland and a few hollow oaks." Over the years, the Prince of Wales—who is involved in hedge-laying, picking wildflower seed mixes, beekeeping, and more—transformed the Highgrove gardens, which now welcome 40,000 visitors a year.
30/09/2022 · Built between 1796 and 1798, per House Beautiful, Highgrove became a royal residence in 1980 when King Charles III bought it along with the garden and nearby farmland. Seven years later, Charles renovated the property, making it more habitable for him and his family.
After your Garden Tour you will have time to dine in the elegant surroundings of the Orchard Room. With table service, it offers savoury and sweet refreshments, including the celebrated Highgrove cream tea, and a selection of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks.
