14 apr 2024 · Ultimately the Holstein-Gottorp family succeeded to the throne, from 1751, and the von Liewen family benefitted. Carl Gustaf’s widow, Ulrike Juliane Brahe, became Chief Mistress of the Court in 1762, while her son Carl Gustaf II was Marshal of the Court from 1759.
