Sir Horace Darwin, KBE FRS (13 May 1851 – 22 September 1928), was an English engineer specializing in the design and manufacture of precision scientific instruments. He was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge .

Horace Darwin was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1903. During the first world war, the Company assisted the war effort by undertaking work for the Ministry of Munitions. This included making instruments previously manufactured in Germany and therefore unavailable.

Si trattava del Cambridge rocking microtome, il più famoso microtomo che sia mai stato costruito. Era stato disegnato da Horace Darwin, il figlio minore del celebre Charles, che comprò una quota della ditta quando questa fu costituita nel 1880.
