Yousuf is a 2nd-year PhD student at PNI with a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Missouri. There, he worked on experiments and analyses investigating striatal contributions to goal-directed behavior in rodents with Professor Ilker Ozden. At Princeton, he is jointly advised by Professors Jonathan Pillow and Ilana Witten.
Witten, however, has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards. He won the Einstein Medal and the New York Academy of Science Award for Physics and Math Science in 1985. In 1990 he shared the Fields Medal, the most prestigious award given in mathematics, also the closest he could get to a Nobel Prize .
