On 10 June 1917, Charles Jonnart, who acted as the Allies' representative in Greece, ordered Constantine to abdicate. The Allies threatened to invade Greece from a military landing at Piraeus, so Constantine unofficially abdicated.
He gave up on the Megali Idea after Greece's defeat at the hands of Kemal. Metaxas even didn't get all touchy with British Cyprus and had good relations with Atatürk to the point they did mutual ethnic cleansing together (AKA the Greco-Turkish population exchange)
