With a screenplay by Ümit Ünal, Istanbul Tales is the product of five different directors adapting classical stories we have listened to since we were little children such as The Pied Piper of Hamelin, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and the Little Red Riding Hood, all taking place in present-day Istanbul.
Filmed in Beyoğlu, Yeşilköy, Balat, Suriye Pasajı, the Galata Bridge, Hasköy, Bayrampaşa, and Kadıköy, the film is a kind of panorama of Istanbul. Istanbul Tales won the “Best Turkish Film of the Year” award at the 24 th International Istanbul Film Festival.
