James Whale (Dudley, 22 luglio 1889 – Los Angeles, 29 maggio 1957) è stato un regista britannico naturalizzato statunitense noto per aver diretto film come Frankenstein (1931), L'uomo invisibile (1933) e La moglie di Frankenstein (1935).
Michael James Whale MBE (born 13 May 1951) is a British radio personality, television presenter, podcast host and author. He gained initial prominence in the 1980s as the host of The James Whale Radio Show on Radio Aire in Leeds, which was simulcast on national television.

He is best remembered for several horror films: Frankenstein (1931), The Old Dark House (1932), The Invisible Man (1933) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935), all considered classics.
