The band includes two original members of At the Drive-In, guitarist Jarrett Wrenn and bassist Kenny Hopper. On September 13, 2007, Crime in Choir performed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art accompanied by light projections by visual artist, Anthony McCall.

At the Drive-In formed in 1994 with an initial lineup of Cedric Bixler-Zavala (lead vocals), Jim Ward (guitar and backing vocals), Jarrett Wrenn (guitar), Kenny Hopper (bass guitar), and Bernie Rincon (drums).
JARRETT WRENN (guitar and baritone) and KENNY HOPPER (Rhodes piano and bass) were founding members of AT THE DRIVE IN -- Kenny Hopper was also a founding member of HADES KICK. Drummer WARREN HUEGAL is from TUSSLE, JESSE REINER (synths) is from JONAS REINHARDT, the saxophonist MATT WATERS is from THE MASS, and ZACH HILL from HELLA contributes on drums.
