Das Jesus College der Universität Cambridge ist 1496 durch Umwandlung eines von John Alcock, dem damaligen Bischof von Ely, gegründeten Nonnenklosters entstanden. Es hieß, dieses Kloster sei durch allzu große Freizügigkeit aufgefallen.

Anyone can apply to Jesus College; we select the best people, regardless of their background. We admit around 145 undergraduates every year to study with us, and offer all the subjects available in the University. We're just above medium size for a Cambridge College, and there are roughly equal numbers of students studying arts and sciences.
A large College tucked away on a quiet side street in central Cambridge, Jesus College's students love its size and location.
