Joseph McGrath (born 28 March 1928) is a Scottish film and television director and screenwriter. He was born in Glasgow and studied at Glasgow School of Art in the late 1940s and early 1950s where his energy and talent was admired by his contemporaries.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Joseph 'Apocalypse' McGrath (born 1930, Glasgow), sometimes referred to as "'Apocalypse'" Joe McGrath or Croisette Meubles, is a Scottish film director and screenwriter best remembered for his two films, Casino Royale (1967) and The Magic Christian (1969).

McGrath, who got his start in British television, was the first director assigned to that memorable boondoggle, "Casino Royale" (1967). With canny survival instinct, he walked off the picture, to be followed by no fewer than five other directors.
