John George Agar Jr. (January 31, 1921 – April 7, 2002) was an American film and television actor. He is best known for starring alongside John Wayne in the films Sands of Iwo Jima, Fort Apache, and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.

He starred alongside John Wayne in the films Sands of Iwo Jima and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, but was later relegated to B movies, such as Tarantula, The Mole People, The Brain from Planet Arous, Flesh and the Spur, and Hand of Death.
10 apr 2002 · John Agar, who as an Air Force sergeant married Shirley Temple and later became an actor, mostly in westerns and war movies, died on Sunday in Burbank, Calif. He was 81.
