About - John Idan's official Website. Biography. John was born in Royal Oak, Michigan just a few miles from the edge of Detroit. Being interested in music from a very young age, he soon discovered the guitar as his favourite instrument and started having lessons at the age of 7.
Celebrating his 30th year as a Yardbird, Lead Singer John Idan has lent his distinct vocals to the sound of the band since their reformation, showcased on the classic 2003 "Birdland" album with guest appearances from Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Slash, and Brian May.
