John Marin. John Marin (Rutherford, 1870 – Cliffside, 1953) è stato un pittore statunitense. Studente alla Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, nel 1905 al 1911 fu a Parigi e ne tornò influenzato da Fauves e Cubismo. I suoi acquerelli sono caratterizzati da un segno nervoso e colorito, che ben rende le terre francesi ove dimorò.

29 set 2017 · Depressed after the deaths of his wife and Stieglitz, Marin died at his summer home in Addison, Maine, on October 2, 1953, shortly before his 83rd birthday. The many works given to the National Gallery of Art by Marin’s son, John Marin Jr., and daughter-in-law, Norma B. Marin, have made the Gallery an important center for Marin studies.
