John Richard Schlesinger ( Londra, 16 febbraio 1926 – Palm Springs, 25 luglio 2003) è stato un regista, attore e sceneggiatore britannico, vincitore del premio Oscar al miglior regista nel 1970 per il suo Un uomo da marciapiede . Over his career he received numerous accolades including an Academy Award, and four BAFTA Awards as well as nominations for three Golden Globe Awards. In 1970, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 1970 Birthday Honours for services to film, and in 2002, he was made a BAFTA Fellow.
