Sir John Thomas Duckworth. 1748-1817. Of Lancastrian descent, he was born on 9 February 1748 at Leatherhead, one of five sons of the Rev. Henry Duckworth, who later became Canon of Windsor, and of his wife, Sarah Johnson of Ickenham, Middlesex.
