Northern Vermont University–Johnson. Johnson State College dates to 1828 with the establishment of an elementary and secondary school in the village of Johnson. The school was chartered in 1832 as Johnson Academy, soon afterward supported by the Lamoille County Grammar School Association.

4 giorni fa · As of July 1, 2018 Johnson State College and Lyndon State College have become Northern Vermont University, a two-campus institution of higher education that combines the best of each campuses’ nationally recognized liberal arts and professional programs.
It was established in 2018 by the unification of the former Johnson State College and Lyndon State College. The university offered over 50 Bachelor's degree programs and Master's degree programs. On July 1, 2023, its two locations became campuses of the newly formed Vermont State University.
One of five colleges in the Vermont State College higher education system, Johnson State College (JSC) is a small liberal arts institution situated in a rural part of northern Vermont. The college, like the town in which it is located, is named after American jurist William Samuel Johnson.
