Joonas Viljami Suotamo è un attore ed ex cestista finlandese, noto soprattutto per aver affiancato e poi sostituito Peter Mayhew nel ruolo di Chewbecca, a partire dalla trilogia sequel della saga di Guerre stellari.
He is best known for his role as Chewbacca in the Star Wars saga, taking over the role from Peter Mayhew, first as a body double, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), and later as the lead in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) and in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Joonas became Chewbacca in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and continued throughout the last chapter of the Skywalker trilogy, Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. He is currently set to return to the Star Wars galaxy, this time as a new character in the highly anticipated show 'The Acolyte'.
Joonas Suotamo was born on 3 October 1986 in Espoo, Finland. He is an actor, known for Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015).
