Joseph Rao Kony (born c. 1961) is a Ugandan militant and warlord who founded the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), designated as a terrorist group by the United Nations Peacekeepers, the European Union, and various other governments. An Acholi, Kony served as an altar boy in his childhood.

7 mar 2024 · Joseph Kony, Ugandan rebel who led the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a militia that terrorized northern Uganda and nearby countries in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The International Criminal Court issued a warrant for Kony’s arrest, accusing him of human rights violations.
Arrest warrant: 8 July 2005. Charges: According to the Prosecution's submission of the Document containing the charges, Joseph Kony is suspected of 36 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity, allegedly committed between at least 1 July 2002 until 31 December 2005 in northern Uganda.
