Joseph Mydell is an American actor, director, and playwright. He is best known for his roles in the films The Color Purple (1985), The Great White Hype (1996), and The Preacher's Wife (1996). He has also appeared in numerous television shows, including The Cosby Show, Law & Order, and The Wire.
