Vocals. Judith Anne Henske (December 20, 1936 – April 27, 2022) was an American singer and songwriter, dubbed "the Queen of the Beatniks " by producer Jack Nitzsche. [1] Initially performing in folk clubs in the early 1960s, her performances and recordings embraced blues, jazz, show tunes, and humorous material.

Judy Henske, a groundbreaking singer during the 1960s folk revival who released a series of cult-classic albums and achieved international success as a songwriter, has died. She was 85. Henske died April 27 in hospice care at a Los Angeles area facility after a long illness, said her husband, Craig Doerge.
