    Lady Victoria Campbell was born in London in 1854, the third daughter and the eighth child of the Duke of Argyll. The Duchess of Sutherland was her grandmother on her mother’s side. Queen Victoria would come and visit the family. It was due to the Queen’s intentions that the young girl was named after her.
