The sinister Legion International are a cover for an extraterrestrial force, and they need to take over a former airforce base in order to execute their shocking plans.

4 gen 2000 · “My name is Bliss,” said the newcomer, “and I bring great news for you all!” The new owners of a Second World War aerodrome promise a golden dawn of prosperity for the East Anglian village of Culverton.
The Master then demands that The Doctor hand over the jade key, the last component the Gaderene require for their invasion to succeed. The alien which occupies the human form of Bliss arrived on Earth with another of her kind during World War Two, but the transfer was unstable, and while she was stranded on Earth her kinsman was horribly mutated and was forced into hibernation in the marsh.
But former Spitfire pilot Alex Whistler is suspicious – when black-shirted troops appear on the streets, he contacts his old friend Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart at U.N.I.T. The Third Doctor is sent to investigate – and soon uncovers a sinister plot to colonise the Earth. The Gaderene are on their way…
