The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute was founded by the noted acting teacher in 1969. It is located at at 115 East 15th Street between Union Square East and Irving Place in the Union Square neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, and at 7936 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, California.

The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute celebrates over 50 years of actor training and is the only school that teaches Lee Strasberg’s work in its complete and authentic form. Staff and teachers conducting classes have been selected for their comprehensive knowledge of Lee Strasberg’s work and their ability to apply it to the problems of the actor.

METHOD ACTING. At the core of the Strasberg curriculum are the Method Acting classes. Students are required to take two Method Acting classes per 10- or 12-week term, each with a different teacher. These classes are designed to train the actor in Lee Strasberg’s systematic approach to acting, known throughout the world as The Method.
