Uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield) was in it for a way longer stretch than dear Grandad (Lennard Pearce) and with Albert’s giant beard, he became an icon. Throw in some catchphrases and his comic timing, you have the perfect recipe for years of sitcom glory.

12 apr 2024 · Series 3 introduces us to Slater, Denzil and Mike. Then the series "changed" to accommodate the passing of Lennard Pearce. Uncle Albert was a decent enough replacement, but he was different to Granddad. I think it goes a bit downhill when they introduce Raquel and Cassandra.
