Leofwine Godwinson. Leofwine Godwinson, the son of Earl Godwin, and his wife, Gytha, was probably born in about 1035. Biography. Leofwine Godwinson is a member of the House of Godwin. Leofwine was a younger son of Godwin and Gytha. [1] [2] His birth year Is not known, but he was old enough to be attesting royal charters as a "minister" or "nobilis" from 1043, [1] so he was likely to have been born no later than 1030.
