Minna Carolina Mathilde Louise "Loja" Gesellius (March 15, 1879 – April 21, 1968) was a Finnish-American textile artist and sculptor. She founded the weaving department at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan.

At the top of her roles as entrepreneur and designer, Loja Saarinen led Studio Loja Saarinen, an innovative weaving studio that produced rugs, curtains, and fabrics for use at Cranbrook and around the country.
Loja gave up sculpting and helped her husband with his architectural work, occasionally building models for him and developing designs for the interiors of Hvittrask. The family moved to the United States in 1923 and began work on Cranbrook Academy of Art for George Gough Booth in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
18 set 2022 · She founded and led Studio Loja Saarinen from 1928 to 1942, creating handwoven rugs, curtains, and fabrics with a dedicated team of Swedish immigrant weavers for clients around the nation. The Studio’s painterly, geometric textiles complete the architectural vision of Cranbrook as a Gesamtkunstwerk, or total work of art.
15 mar 2021 · Loja Saarinen, artist and wife of Eliel Saarinen, founded Cranbrook's textile and weaving department. Saarinen ran a commercial studio and led Craft programs.
Loja and Eliel Saarinen designed this second rug woven by Studio Loja Saarinen, in which Eliel’s initials appear in one corner and Cranbrook Academy of Art’s “CA” monogram in another.
