Dominic Anciano and Ray Burdis, direct with more imagination, write with more wit and perform with more humour than last time. Jude Law looks tanned and dodgy. Sean Pertwee is very cool, belting out the theme tune to "Fireball XL5" on the karaoke. But I couldn't get away from the feeling that this film was just made for a laugh by a bunch of people who fancied farting about playing at gangsters. It's cool, it's funny, it's entertaining, but very inconsequential.
A postman convinces his best friend to let him join his uncle's criminal gang. Once accepted into the firm, the new recruit soon grows disillusioned with a life less glamorous than he expected and starts to take increasingly reckless risks. The film was largely improvised by the crew and cast.
17 apr 2019 · Either way the result is tortuous, egotistical film making. To be fair, Love, Honour and Obey is at least a step up from their last effort, Final Cut , in which much the same cast again paraded under their own names and made utter fools of themselves, but that's like saying the Zeebrugge ferry disaster wasn't as bad as the Titanic.
