My love for shooting film is reaffirmed. The depth in the shadows is perfect, the lens blur is perfect, and there are virtually no repeat photos. Yeah, there might be movement in there because I had to bring my shutter speed down in order to let enough light in and I refuse to use a flash… but for some reason, movement within film images is less offensive to me than with digital.
11 feb 2021 · It’s impossible to disassociate photography with film and its chemical history. Digital lacks the character of film, which, ironically, is part of why it’s so celebrated. Digital is a blank canvas whereas film is a masterpiece already full of character and expression. Taken with a Mamiya 7 II and 150mm f/4.5 Lens on Kodak T-Max 100.

11 lug 2019 · It’s going to be different for everyone, but I can tell you why I love using it. First off, I slow down when I shoot with film. I shoot more carefully and I shoot fewer images. The images are not as “perfect” as digital images, but the tone, softness and grain of my film work is something that I enjoy very much.
19 feb 2024 · From there I was off to the races shooting 110 and began to fall in love with it. I love the simple nature of the film, I just plug it in and go, especially that I exclusively use a point-and-shoot camera. The film always produces a nostalgic looking image and even after shooting over 50 rolls I still am surprised by the results.
