Love Unto Waste. (1986) Two Taiwanese girls, Jade and Suk Ling come to Hong Kong and befriend Hong Kong model Billie. All of them share the same quest for fame. They come across a handsome young man Jean Cheung and he immediately falls for the gorgeous Billie. After celebrating Jade's birthday, Suk Ling is murdered on her way home.
Jade Screen Liu is a nude movie actress. Tony has had all of them, though he seems interested in no-one or nothing. Miss Chiu is found murdered by Jade Screen, and Detective Lan come sin to investigate. Lan fancies himself as Columbo, spending much time harassing everyone in sight.

A melancholic air emanates from the opening credits of Stanley Kwan’s second feature, Love Unto Waste, as the camera traces across the numerous locations the leading characters will inhabit. It’s almost as lackadaisical and apathetic as the three leads, especially during the first half.
