Magdalen College will teach out the remainder of the 2023-2024 academic year and has already begun to work with a variety of institutions—including other colleges, our academic accreditation agency (NECHE), and the New Hampshire Department of Education—to ensure a smooth pathway for students to complete their degrees.

26 apr 2024 · This is a very special May Morning for Magdalen College as it coincides with the 550th anniversary of Magdalen College Chapel. William Waynflete founded Magdalen on 12 June 1458, but it wasn’t until 5 May 1474 that the foundation stone of the Chapel was laid by then President of Magdalen, William Tybard, and blessed by Bishop Robert Tully of St David’s.

Magdalen College has not one library, but five! With a main student-focused library, and four specialist libraries, the following pages will tell you more about our collections, how to use them and how to contact us or arrange a visit.
Architecture and gardens. The college is located on a 100-acre site that includes beautiful gardens and a deer park, and its buildings are in a striking Gothic and notable neoclassical architectural styles, including the striking Magdalen Tower, which dates back to the 15th century and is one of Oxford’s most recognisable landmarks.
