Marcella Leach, who became a leading advocate for crime victims’ rights after the brutal murder of her college-student daughter, died March 15 at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. She was 85. The cause was complications of Alzheimer’s disease, said her son, Henry T. Nicholas III.
13 mag 2019 · One week after her 17-year-old daughter Marsy was murdered by an ex-boyfriend, Marcella Leach stopped at a grocery store on the way home from her daughter’s funeral. Leach didn’t know that Marsy’s alleged murderer had posted $100,000 bail just days earlier.
26 mar 2021 · Marcella Leach was taken aback when she ran into the shooter at a neighborhood grocery store not long after the murder. The event led the Leaches and Marsy’s brother, Henry Nicholas, to begin advocating for the rights of homicide victims.
