Martin the Humane (29 July 1356 – 31 May 1410), also called the Elder and the Ecclesiastic, was King of Aragon, Valencia, Sardinia and Corsica and Count of Barcelona from 1396 and King of Sicily from 1409 (as Martin II).
Biografía. Gobierno en Sicilia. Segundo hijo de Pedro IV de Aragón y de su tercera mujer Leonor de Sicilia, Martín contrajo matrimonio en 1372 con María de Luna, hija de Lope, el primer conde de Luna, en 1374. De esta unión nacieron: el futuro rey de Sicilia Martín el Joven (1376-1409), Jaime (1378), Juan (1380) y Margarita (1388).

He was the son of Peter IV and brother of John I of Aragon. Martin’s life was marked chiefly by the continued Aragonese intervention in Sicily.
