Melvins are an American rock band formed in Montesano, Washington in 1983 by then high-school students Buzz Osborne, Matt Lukin and Mike Dillard (replaced by Dale Crover shortly after). Osborne and Crover have remained members since 1984, joined by a revolving cadre of bassists.

Oh, no, I don't get along with him at all. I haven't liked him since I was in high school. He's a very toxic human being.

Uskoro za etiketu Sub Pop objavljuju debitantski EP “Superfuzz Bigmuff”, koji je bio velika inspiracija Kurtu Cobainu, a poseban su uspjeh dosegli singlom “Touch Me I’m Sick”. Uskoro kreću na turneju s bendom Sonic Youth, a 1989. godine izdaju svoj prvi album “Mudhoney”.
