My Darkest Days. Musical artist. Matthew Jean Paul Walst (born December 28, 1982) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and musician. He is the current lead singer of the band Three Days Grace, which also includes his older brother Brad as bassist. Before joining Three Days Grace, he was the lead singer of My Darkest Days.

Former My Darkest Days lead singer Matt Walst joined the band in 2013. The group began recording their fifth studio album in late 2013 in Noble Street Studios, Toronto. The group also confirmed in March 2014, that Walst would officially be taking over as the band's new frontman. They worked with producer Gavin Brown on this album.
