The film, a biopic of the English bank robber John McVicar, was produced by Daltrey and also featured him in the starring role as John McVicar himself. All of the then-members of the Who played on the album. The album was released in June 1980, on Polydor PD-1-6284 in the US. It was produced by Jeff Wayne and recorded at Advision Studios, London.

20 gen 2024 · Yes, there are the expected clichés and yes, the last act of the film is far less interesting and suspenseful than what's come before, but for the most part MCVICAR is a film that does the business. Director Tom Clegg, later a mainstay of television with the SHARPE movies, does an excellent job and I think this is the highlight of his resume.
