Schomberg’s mission in Portugal kept him away from most of the meetings of Anne’s first Parliament. After his return in 1704 he sat in most of the remaining sessions of Anne’s reign, although he attended even less assiduously than he had under William.
2 apr 2024 · Meinhard Schomberg, 3rd Duke of Schomberg and Leinster, army officer, was buried in the Ormond vault at the east end of the Lady Chapel in Westminster Abbey on 4th August 1719. His name was inscribed on the vaultstone in the 19th century but unfortunately this is now covered by a carpet in what is now the RAF chapel. He has no monument.
