The Berlin International Film Festival mourns the loss of the well-known Berliner actor and director, Michael Gwisdek, who passed away on September 22, 2020. Michael Gwisdek was a frequent guest at the Berlinale: as an actor in numerous films - including Good Bye, Lenin - and with his directorial works Farewell to Agnes and The Big Mambo.

První angažmá Michael přijal do Městského divadla v Karl-Marx-Stadtu v roce 1968 a téhož roku se poprvé objevil před kamerou ve filmu Zlato v Black Hills. Později se začal prosazovat i jako režisér.
