Enciclopedia on line. Ecclesiastico tedesco (Klosterheidenfeld 1869 - Monaco 1952). Sacerdote nel 1892, vescovo di Spira (1911), e poi di Monaco e Frisinga (1917), fu creato nel 1921 cardinale. Fu uno dei più fieri oppositori di Hitler e del nazismo, contro cui predicò più volte nella cattedrale di Monaco.

Michael von Faulhaber was a German cardinal and archbishop of Munich who became a prominent opponent of the Nazis. Educated at Rome, Faulhaber was ordained in 1892. He taught at the German universities of Würzburg (1899–1903) and Strassburg (1903–11), subsequently serving as bishop of Speyer.
