9 nov 2023 · In the biblical account, the Midianites were descended from Midian, a son of Abraham through his concubine Keturah (Genesis 25:1-6). Unknown outside of the Bible, they occupied territory east of the Jordan River and the Dead Sea, and southward through the desert wilderness.

15 nov 2023 · Midian is seen in the Bible as the land and home of the descendants of Abraham and his wife, Keturah. Abraham’s son Ishmael married at least three of his half sisters, who were born to Keturah, making them Midianites.
9 nov 2023 · Midian was a son of Abraham via Keturah (see Genesis 25 ). I believe the phrase "the Priest of Midian" is a geographical reference in Exodus 18 (cf. Exodus 4:19 ), but I also believe the inhabitants would be the descendants of Abraham so it is probable they were believers.

14 nov 2023 · Abraham was a sojourner in Hebron (Gen. 23:4) and Moses was a sojourner in Midian. In fact, Moses named the son born to him in Midian “Gershom,” which translates from Hebrew into English as “a sojourner there” (Ex 2:22). Even Israel was considered a sojourner in the Land of Promise (Lev. 25:23).
