Actress Carey Lowell will star in the LIFETIME Original Movie More Than Meets the Eye: The Joan Brock Story (working title) and will air later this year. Based on a true story, Lowell plays a woman who uses humor to cope with the onset of blindness and becomes a successful motivational speaker.
Synopsis. Joan devoted her life to her daughter Joy, to her husband Joe, a gym teacher and her colleague, and especially to her job, teaching at a blind school. The she gets a macula-degeneration, which normally occurs slowly with seniors but is mysteriously accelerated, making her colorblind almost overnight and completely blind as a bat in days.
