The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) is a private, non-profit research university focussed on technical and vocational studies. It has several campuses in New York State as well as programmes abroad. In 1910 the institute’s predecessor, the New York Technical Institute, was licensed by New York State. NYIT opened in 1955.
