Nitzevet bat Adael (Hebrew: נִצֶּבֶת בַּת עַדְאֵל Nīṣṣeḇeṯ baṯ ʿAḏʾēl) is, according to Hanan bar Rava, the mother of David with her husband Jesse and is the daughter of Adael, according to the Talmud.
Through no apparent cause of his own, he is surrounded by enemies who wish to cut him down; even his own brothers are strangers to him, ravaging and reviling him. Amazingly, this is the voice of the mighty King David, righteous and beloved servant of G‑d, feared and awed by all.
23 feb 2024 · Some scholars, including the 4th-century Palestinian rabbi Eusebius, have suggested that David’s mother was Nitzevet (in Hebrew) or Nitzebeyt (in Aramaic). This theory is based on the fact that the Talmud identifies David’s mother with a woman by either name.

4 ago 2023 · The Bible does not mention King David’s mother by name. A Jewish legend has named her Nitzevet, but there is no biblical confirmation of that name. David’s father, Jesse, lived in Bethlehem and was from the tribe of Judah. David was the youngest of eight brothers (1 Samuel 17:12–14).
