Norman Stewart Hughson Lamont, Baron Lamont of Lerwick, PC (born 8 May 1942) is a British politician and former Conservative MP for Kingston-upon-Thames. He served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1990 until 1993. He was created a life peer in 1998. Lamont was a supporter of the Eurosceptic organisation Leave Means Leave.

I’ve been writing songs since I was 16. My inspirations then were the folk-rock-psychedelic singers and bands that clustered around the Island Records label in the early 70s. I’ve written about a lot of them on this site. Although I played my songs here and there, it wasn’t until I moved to Edinburgh in 1990 that I took it seriously.
